Using Bitu-Ox™ 400 at Your Asphalt Plant

Bitu-Ox™ 400 is used to clean asphalt from tools and equipment in many applications throughout the asphalt manufacturing and paving processes. While Bitu-Ox™ is used most frequently to clean at the laydown site and after the job, there are many other applications where Bitu-Ox™ 400 can be useful. By integrating Bitu-Ox™ into operations at the asphalt plant you will improve efficiency and keep equipment running smoothly. The asphalt plant is where the components are first mixed to create the asphalt that will later be transported to the paving site. Asphalt is an extremely sticky substance that adheres to many surfaces on plant equipment. Applying Bitu-Ox™ 400 to these surfaces will not only keep them clean throughout the process, allowing operations at your plant to run smoothly, but also acts as a lubricant, helping the asphalt slide out easily.
Applications:
Shovels and Wrenches: Spray shovels with Bitu-Ox™ 400 just like you would on the paving jobsites. Shovels are frequently used to clean up asphalt spills, especially around the dispensing silo where the spills occur during loading. They are also used in the asphalt collection process for lab testing, as well as scooping into asphalt sampling boxes that are being tested. Wrenches and other maintenance tools used on liquid asphalt tanks can also be kept clean this way.
Spills: Efficiently clean up liquid asphalt spills and overflows on liquid asphalt tanks by applying Bitu-Ox™ to the tank and surrounding area.
Liquid Asphalt Lines: Unclog liquid asphalt lines that have cooled and become congested. Bitu-Ox™ should be run through the asphalt lines on a regular basis, just as it would in a distributor machine.
Drag Slats: Clean asphalt drag slats and prevent asphalt from sticking to the chains of the slats. An automatic spray system should be set up to periodically coat the chain and the slats to keep them clean and running effortlessly.
Hot Box Truck: Before filling your hot box truck with asphalt, the truck should be power washed down completely with Bitu-Ox™ 400. This will act as a lubricant and help asphalt side out more smoothly.
